Comedy Nights with Kapil is an Indian sketch comedy show that premiered on Colors TV on 22 June 2013. Many episodes feature celebrity guests who usually appear to promote their latest films in a comedy-focused talk show format.[2] The show became India's highest rated scripted TV show.[3] The Famous Phrase or slang Baba Ji Ka Thullu is Introduced by Kapil Sharma in this show which instantly become a sensation and took the Country by storm. At CNN-IBN Indian of the Year awards, Sharma[4] was awarded the Entertainer of the Year award for 2013.

On 25 September 2013, a fire broke out on the sets of the show at Film City in Goregaon causing the entire set to collapse and an estimated loss of INR200 million but there were no casualties. Following the fire, two episodes were shot on sets of Bigg Boss in Lonavla

Comedy Nights with Kapil

Comedy Nights with Kapil is a comedy show which provides a distinctive take on the everyday life of a common man as the show explores the story of every household and how our common man Kapil is affected by the simplest issues in life around him.

The show consists of a talented cast portraying various roles starting with the wife Mrs. Sharma played by Sumona Chakravarti, the interfering Daadi played by Ali Asgar, the unmarried Bua played by Upasana Singh, an annoying servant played by Naseem Vicky, and Kapil’s secretary played by Soni Singh. Talented theatre actor and comedian Sunil Grover will also be seen donning several unconventional characters throughout the series.
